Why Preparation Matters

General Preparation

· Ensure all lights are working (replace bulbs as needed)

· Use consistent lighting color (warm white recommended)

· Open all curtains and blinds for natural light

· Turn ON all interior lights

· Declutter and depersonalize spaces

· Clean all surfaces, floors, and windows

· Hide cords, trash cans, and small distractions

Exterior Preparation

Front Exterior

· Mow lawn and trim landscaping

· Remove weeds and dead plants

· Clear driveway and walkways

· Remove vehicles if possible

· Clean and stage the front entry (mat, plants)

· Hide trash bins, hoses, and tools

Backyard / Outdoor Areas

· Clean patio, deck, and outdoor furniture

· Arrange furniture neatly

· Remove covers (if furniture is clean)

· Clear toys, tools, and clutter

· Sweep leaves and debris

· Clean pool/spa if applicable

Interior Preparation

Living Areas

· Arrange furniture neatly and symmetrically

· Fluff pillows and fold blankets

· Remove remotes, magazines, and clutter

· Clean all surfaces and screens

Kitchen

· Clear countertops (keep minimal decor only)

· Remove dish racks, sponges, and soaps

· Clean appliances (no fingerprints)

· Empty and clean sink

· Hide trash cans

Dining Area

· Clean table and center it

· Align chairs evenly

· Add a simple centerpiece (optional)

Bedrooms

· Make beds with clean, neutral linens

· Remove personal items and clutter

· Clear nightstands (minimal decor only)

· Hide laundry and hampers

Bathrooms

· Deep clean all surfaces

· Remove toiletries and personal items

· Close toilet lids

· Set fresh, neatly folded towels

· Clean mirrors and glass thoroughly

Additional Spaces

· Home Office: clear desk, organize cables

· Laundry Room: hide supplies, clear surfaces

Day of Shoot Checklist
